Introduction: Tasked with producing components for an interactive mathematical puzzle exhibit, our team employed CNC milling techniques to create POM elements, HPL laminate-covered plywood surfaces, and steel legs. The POM components feature a knurled texture and are crafted with an unparalleled level of quality, ensuring they are free from even the slightest scratches. Challenge: Achieving the exceptional quality demanded by the client, with the easily scratchable POM elements requiring careful handling and flawless finishing. Following the CNC milling process, each detail had to be carefully wrapped in bubble wrap to protect it from damage, a practice not commonly seen in industries other than the museum sector.
